Winnetka is a neighborhood in the west-central San Fernando Valley in the city of Los Angeles. The city was founded in 1922 as a small farming community. Winnetka neighbors Chatsworth, on the northeast by Northridge, on the east by Reseda, on the south by Woodland Hills and on the west by Canoga Park.
Winnetka is considered a highly diverse neighborhood with 49% Hispanics, 23% whites, 18% Asians, 4% African Americans and 6% others. The recent census recorded 50,319 residents with a median age of 37.1. Median household income was $76,857.
